If both the tightening bolts fell out the hand guard still would not rotate unless you pulled it off the barrel. Of all the mounting options for hand guards I love Midwest industries the best. I don't do reviews unless I am overly satisfied with the product. Own two of these, one for a 18 inch and one for a 16 inch build.

The fit and finish are superb and it almost feels like a monolithic upper once it's all set. Use these exclusively for any build I do that goes with a quad rail. Easy to install since you don't need to time the barrel nut with the gas tube. I already have a 15” combat rails also happy with that.
